On this World Goa Day, I thought of asking some
random question to people about Goa. Like, how they feel being Goans or being
part of Goa? And out of curiosity I thought of asking Goans who have settled abroad
and also some people from outside Goa. And
the way people shared their memories about Goa made me write this article. Beyond the beaches and churches people had so
many amazing things to tell. And it actually makes me feel proud when I hear
such good things about Goa. If you really want to feel proud being a Goan, you
got to read these views of people. I hope you’ll enjoy reading it.

About Goa! I have a huge list
of things to tell.Staying in Abroad, I miss on so many things we used to do in
Goa. Like fishing by the rivers side, coconut plucking, sannas, sorpatel, Goan
wedding, food, the fields, the smell of the first rain, Sunday mass. The fun we
had in Goa I can never forget. I still remember when we cousins used to go for
fishing by the river side and the happiness we got when we spotted an earthworm
was really a crazy one. Haha!!! Fishing was so much fun. These small little
things are the memories that come to my mind when I remember GOA.

what differentiates Goa from
others states are the beautiful Portuguese houses. Their unique architectural
design makes them different from the rest. Being a Punjabi and spending my 21
years in Goa I think I had the best time of my life. And Goans are so friendly
and easy going, its quiet rare to find such people. I love Goa a lot.

I would like to share something that people don’t know about Goa, it’s
the only state having two officials’ languages Konkani and Marathi which is a
beautiful example of linguistic blend. And
I am happy being a part of this magnificent place.

Goa is a heaven not because of the
best beaches but because of people. The people of Goa celebrate every festival
no matter it’s of Hindu or Christians there is no discrimination. This is
something a true Goan is known for.
