Divar islands - “A picturesque of rich traditional Goan village.” An island lashed with paddy fields and wooden hills lacing the roadway, very typical of the Goan countryside. The island is located 10km from Panjim. In order to reach there you have to board the Goan ferry, which connects to Old Goa, Ribandar, and Narve. Major attraction of this Island is the famous “Bonderam feast” that’s celebrated during the monsoon. This feast creates a typical carnival ambience with Melodious music buzzing throughout the village, Along with the gaily colored floats accompanied by colorfully dressed youngsters make a pretty picture. Thousands of goan gather here to simply enjoy this feast. Another major attraction is the church of Our Lady of Compassion that’s, situated right on the hill top, providing a panoramic view of the entire place that exists since the 16th century; Divar is one of the few places in Goa where you will find “Urak” all round the year. Divar being a tiny island gives you a ride back to historical Goan village.
